I took a small portion of "Flightless Bird, American Mouth"
and got this.

Kade (our horse) is a young colt on his own. The world has left him alone. Almost. With him is a selfish raven. Everyday while Kade searched for fallen berries or patches of grass, the raven swooped up into the air and plucked one from the top of the tree. He dug with his claws into the soil and took the insects underneath.

One day, Kade woke feeling very strange-why, he had wings! They sprouted from his shoulder blades awkwardly, but when he flapped them his hooves came off the ground.
"Raven! Raven!" he cried, looking for the bird excitedly.
"Look what's happened! Raven!" his voice echoed. "Raven?"

Raven looked down on the colt, frowning. Why would such a scrawny foal awaken him? Raven felt lighter, somehow. The branch he sat atop on was high in the sky, but help him dutifully. He looked behind him and noticed, wearily, that he had no wings.

Kade never found Raven. But whenever he sat underneath the tree, little droplets of water rained down on his wings.
"Have I found you, flightless bird?" He would murmur.


Hmm, so the story only applies to that part of the song, but still. I dislike the way the wings are faded in, I didn't do such a great job on that. There are runes on his legs because when I first started, he was supposed to be Jace from MI. (*MEGASPOILERALERT* Don't read this unless you've read COG) Because Jace thought that he was Valentine's, and thought he was part demon. So...yeah. But I ended up leaving them on because they looked nifty. ^^
